The Velocity is the affordable housing for South Kirkland Transit Oriented Development (TOD), a collaboration between the City of Kirkland, City of Bellevue and King County Metro Transit to provide jobs and housing close to public transit along the SR-520 corridor.  Sharing a site with the South Kirkland Park & Ride, residents have regional public transit right at their doorstep.  The Velocity takes this sustainable approach to resident comfort and convenience one step further.  Ground-source geothermal renewable energy provides comfortable even temperatures throughout common areas, and the large green roof both mitigates stormwater runoff and provides a tranquil park-like setting for residents to enjoy in the heart of a major regional transit hub.
