Located at the western extents of the High Point neighborhood in West Seattle, the project is part of the Seattle Housing Authority’s High Point redevelopment plan. Helping to reconnect High Point with the rest of West Seattle, Upton Flats will serve as a gateway to the neighborhood while also providing 104 market-rate residential units and over 10,000 sq ft of ground floor commercial space. In response to the 380′ long site, we were able to maintain an at-grade pedestrian connection by proposing two, 4-story buildings over continuous below grade parking separated by a pedestrian pathway. The design focuses amenity spaces, such as two roof decks, a central club room, exercise room and entry lobbies along this pedestrian corridor to help activate the site into a vibrant extension of the High Point neighborhood.
