New Tacoma Senior Housing Apartments was developed in two phases over a five year period with Mercy Housing Northwest. Both phases amount to $19.6 million. The building is 4-stories with a total of 114 one-bedroom units, a two-bedroom manager’s unit, and common spaces that include two large community rooms, first-floor terrace with gazebo and raised planting beds for residents, computer lab, arts and crafts room, exercise and flex rooms, nurses offices, a fourth-floor roof deck, common laundry rooms, management offices, and a parking garage, located on a steeply sloping site in Tacoma’s Hillside neighborhood. Funding included Low Income Housing Tax Credits, WA Housing Trust Fund, and HUD 202 dollars.
