SMR has partnered with DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center) on many projects since the 1990’s. Interbay Place is one of the largest housing projects in their history with 97 units of housing for homeless amounting to $11.6 million. This project includes many amenities at the ground level with common area lounges, DESC management services, counseling services and a common area kitchen for daily meals with cafe-style dining. The dwelling units are typical studio units that are similar to any market-rate project with all the amenities of kitchen, bath and living area. Common Laundry is at each floor and all tenants have access to two exterior courtyards, raised veggie gardens and seating in a tranquil landscaped environment along a busy commercial corridor.
