This 14-story high-rise in downtown Tacoma is part of American Baptist Homes of the West (ABHOW) commitment to providing safe and secure affordable senior housing. This occupied renovation includes upgrades to residential corridors and units. There were cosmetic, lighting, life, safety, sewer, plumbing and mechanical systems.
The outdated commercial kitchen and dining areas were converted to create open, light-filled spaces with mountain and water views. This establishes a connection between the indoors and outdoors, providing a modern approach to active senior life. The planned uses include health and fitness areas, a kitchen and bistro counter area for dining and serving meals, a new central stair connection from the first floor to the basement, family and community rooms, a new laundry facility, and administrative offices.
